Like all bad ideas, he was late one night in 1988 when Carlos Anderson ordered one more boat and Billy asked for another round of mezcal. They thought it would be a good idea to leave Carlos O’Brian’s of Puerto Vallarta and move to the desert of Baja California South . It was there that an abandoned warehouse was rented and what is now known as The Squid Roe began. Somehow, this seemingly “bad” idea turned brilliant.
