At Grupo Anderson’s, we’re pleased to announce our Chile en Nogada Festival, running from July 1 to September 16, where you can enjoy this exquisite dish at Porfirio’s and La Vicenta. Each offers its own take on the classic Chile en Nogada, a poblano pepper stuffed with meat and fruit and topped with walnut sauce, paired with a red or white wine from MariTinto, for a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. Here’s more about the delicious versions waiting for you!
The history of Chile en Nogada is as rich and varied as its ingredients. This iconic dish of Mexican cuisine dates back to 1821 and is said to have been created by the Augustinian nuns of the Santa Mónica convent in Puebla to celebrate Mexico’s independence and honor Agustín de Iturbide. Chile en Nogada represents the colors of the Mexican flag with its green poblano pepper, white nogada and red pomegranate.
Porfirio’sAt Porfirio’s you’ll find its delicious Chile en Nogada, stuffed with pork and topped with a Castilian walnut nogada, port reduction, dried apple, parsley and almond with gold leaf. Available battered or unbattered, it’s the perfect choice for lovers of authentic flavor.
For all the locals in Puebla, as always, Porfirio’s Puebla will once again have its traditional version with pork, Castilian walnut nogada and pomegranate. Both dishes will be available battered and unbattered.
La VicentaAt La Vicenta, they like to put a twist on tradition. Here the Chile en Nogada is served as a grilled poblano pepper stuffed with carne asada, fruit and nuts, pomegranate and parsley, all on a base of traditional nogada, port honey and crispy golden rice noodles. Battered or not, it’s an experience you can’t miss.
Come celebrate the richness of Mexican cuisine with Grupo Anderson’s. Don’t miss the chance to try these amazing versions of Chile en Nogada at our Porfirio’s and La Vicenta restaurants. We look forward to giving you an unforgettable culinary experience!
